Gangster Johnny
Angels with Even Filthier Souls was a gangster film that served as a sequel to Angels with Filthy Souls.
History[]
After accidentally getting lost in New York City when his family was in Florida, Kevin McCallister found a videotape of Angels with Even Filthier Souls and watched it while eating a huge bowl of ice cream.
A scene from the film started with classy "Dame" Carlotta wearing a 1930s satin evening gown and fur stole walking into gangster Johnny's apartment. Gritty old Chicago gangster Johnny was waiting for her, sitting next to a Christmas tree, wearing a tuxedo with greased back hair, while smoking a cigarette and watching a movie by the fireplace. Johnny accused Carlotta of cheating with his brother. She denied it, but he accused her of kissing many other men - Snuffy, Al, Leo, "Little Moe with the gimpy leg", Cheeks, Bony Bob, and Cliff. She denied everything, and he told her that he believed her, but he proceeded to grab a Tommy Gun from under the Christmas tree proclaiming the gun did not believe her. He made Carlotta beg for her life on her knees. She told him she was over the moon for him, and when that didn't impress him, she exclaimed that if her love was an ocean "Lindy" would need two airplanes to cross it, and he seemed convinced. He told her menacingly that she had three seconds to escape. Carlotta stood up but out of sheer fear, she could not run away. At the count of two, he started firing his Tommy Gun, riddling Carlotta with bullets. After a lengthy salvo, he stopped shooting, wishing her a Merry Christmas. He then fired at her again, wishing her a Happy New Year.[1]
The film was used by Kevin to escape from his room at the Plaza Hotel when the staff came in to confront him about his dad's stolen credit card. He hid in the other room and played only Johnny's dialogue from the film, pausing out Carlotta's parts, and implied that the concierge Mr. Hector had been in the hotel room before, smooching with his brother and many other people. One of them was called Cliff who, by another coincidence, happened to be the name of one of the security guards, who quickly denied such actions. Johnny ordered the staff to get down on their knees and declare they love him. The five staff knelt down, and Mr. Hector grudgingly declared "I love you!" much to Kevin's amusement. When Johnny seemed unimpressed, the five staff chanted "I love you!" in unison. Johnny seemed impressed, but then gave them the count of three to get out. When Johnny started shooting, Kevin escaped the hotel, while the staff hit the floor outside the room to dodge the bullets, as other guests took notice. As they crawled away, Mr. Hector declared "there is an insane guest with a gun!" telling others to stay in their rooms.[1]

- The name of the Gangster "Dame" is Carlotta. This name is used in a final draft of the script (November 1992) from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York.

- The role of Carlotta is credited as Gangster - "Dame" and played by Clare Hoak.
- The name Carlotta is also used in two novelizations of Home Alone 2 by A.L. Singer and Todd Strasser.
- It is possible that Kevin may have seen Angels with Even Filthier Souls before since he knew that Johnny was going to say "you were smoochin' with my brother." He may have also seen her "smooching" with Johnny's brother earlier in the movie, provoking him to say it.
- Kevin using Johnny's lines and pausing out Carlotta's lines to trick the hotel staff is very similar to what Kevin did in the first movie where he used Johnny's lines and paused Snakes' lines from Angles with Filthy Souls to trick the Pizza Boy. But unlike Snakes and Johnny, Kevin does not use Carlotta's lines in one of his tricks.
- "Lindy" is an expression for famed pilot Charles Lindburgh famous for his solo flight across the Atlantic Ocean.
